War Thunder tankers and fans of German ground vehicles can look forward to the addition of one of the most iconic German steel beasts of all time, coming to the game with update 1.79!

After the unsuccessful joint MBT-70 project, the American Congress approved funding for the development of a cheaper version of the MBT-70, called the XM803. Although it failed to save the concept of the MBT-70, fans of US ground vehicles can look forward to the introduction of the XM803 to the game with War Thunder’s upcoming update 1.79!
The Bf 109Z is a prototype heavy fighter version of the well-known Bf 109, developed as a stop-gap measure to address the Luftwaffe’s urgent demand for a new yet inexpensive and easily mass-produced alternative to the rapidly aging Bf 110. Although the project never surpassed prototype stage, War Thunder pilots themselves will have the chance to test out the concept’s effectiveness with the upcoming update 1.79!
Great news for owners of the Magach 3 premium tank – with the release of War Thunder update 1.79, this tank will receive a set of modules that increase its survivability and defense capability on the battlefield. In short: Blazer explosive-reactive armour and smoke grenades are coming as new modules for the Magach 3. No increase in BR is currently planned. Read on to find out more.
The Ki-32 is a Japanese light bomber developed in the mid 1930s by the Kawasaki company to replace the outdated Ki-3 bomber. Used extensively in the Asian theatre of war before and after WWII, the Ki-32 is now zeroing in to the Japanese aviation tree with the upcoming War Thunder 1.79 update!
Another new British vehicle has arrived on supertest -- this time, a tier 8 medium tank known as the Chimera. The vehicle is rather average for a medium of this tier, save for one key feature -- best-in-class alpha damage, coming in at a whopping 490 hitpoints per shell. The I.A.R. 81-C is the final wartime modification of one of the most well known domestically produced Romanian WW2 military aircraft. This aircraft model has been created by one of our players, Vitaliy Vostokov a.k.a. NovA29R and thanks to the War Thunder revenue share program, the I.A.R. 81-C will once more take to the skies as a new user-made vehicle, coming to the game with the upcoming update 1.79!
Quick Update: According to The Daily Bounce's post, this vehicle is planned to be a personal mission reward.
Hello Commanders! A new vehicle is entering Supertest today—the Excalibur, a Tier VI British tank destroyer. Its layout isn’t typical for Blighty: it has a forward-placed turret with only 180 degrees of traverse. Though bulky, the Excalibur has good mobility: thanks to its specific power of 18 hp per ton of weight, it can do 50 km/h. It also has outstanding gun depression: -10°/+20°. Read on to find out more.
It’s been over two weeks since our last release, and we’ve got a fairly-packed new update wrapped and ready for Common Test. There’s plenty to cover, from an evolved take on customization and level design tweaks to select maps and new Tier X Soviet tanks. The Chieftain Marksman is an SPAA conversion of the famous British main battle tank, which combined the hull of the Chieftain with the Marksman turret developed by the Marconi company in the 1980s. War Thunder tankers will soon have the chance to sweep the skies clear with the new Chieftain Marksman SPAA coming to War Thunder as part of the upcoming update 1.79!
