It's 2019, and we're ready for Update 1.4: Common Test! The Update's a bit special — first and foremost, we're introducing the new long-awaited line of French wheeled vehicles. We've also made some improvements to Personal Missions and give new life to Ghost Town — an epic map with a fascinating legend!
Brief information: the public test of Update 1.4 will likely begin on Monday, January 14, 2019, around 2:00-15:00 Moscow time. Here is what is currently expected from the update:
A first for the American tree has arrived on supertest -- a premium tier 8 tank destroyer, known as the TS-5! Previously, the highest-tier premium tank destroyer in the US tree was tier 7 (the M56 Scorpion), but this is looking to change that. The vehicle should also perform more closely to the high-tier American TDs, since it is characterized by strong frontal armor protection (and a decent slab of health) at the cost of speed/maneuverability.
In short -- compared to the T28, the TS-5 currently has marginally better listed frontal protection (in addition to only having one cupola, rather than two) and top speeds, as well as a slight increase in rate-of-fire, offset by vastly-inferior accuracy (0.44 vs the T28's 0.38), a slightly lower power-to-weight ratio, and a taller hull/casemate profile.
Read on to check out the full details on this vehicle!
Happy New Year, everyone! Let's start off with some news on wheeled vehicles -- specifically, relating to the Panhard EBR 75 (FL-10).
After recent tests of the vehicle, it has been decided to introduce changes and corrections to the first French premium wheeled tier VIII vehicle. These changes will already be introduced in the public test of update 1.4, and it is possible that the vehicle may still be subject to further changes.
Seasons greetings to everyone! We hope you're enjoying this festive time of year. As an extra special Christmas treat, we have a bumper Q&A with War Thunder developer Vyacheslav Bulannikov!
